Our People
At Learnology Labs, our research team is driven by a commitment to grant-ready, evidence-based academic excellence and meaningful educational impact.
Learnology Labs brings together learning scientists, researchers, educators, and technologists with deep experience advancing learning through rigorous research and evidence-grounded design.

Dr. Anastasia Betts is a learning scientist, educational technology innovator, and founder of Learnology Labs, where she leads research on mathematics learning, human development, and AI-supported learning across the human lifespan. Her work integrates cognitive science, developmental psychology, mathematics education, and artificial intelligence to better understand how people learn and how technology can support lifelong learning.
Dr. Betts earned her Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo, where she introduced the concept of mathematical parenting identity, and is the named inventor on three U.S. patents for personalized learning technologies. She has spent nearly a decade leading research and innovation in AI for education, previously serving as Senior Vice President of Curriculum Design at Age of Learning. She is also co-editor of the Handbook of Research on Innovative Approaches to Early Childhood Education and School Readiness and co-founder of Learnology.ai, which translates the Lab's research into evidence-informed educational technologies.

Learning Scientist; Multilingual Learning, Human-AI Collaboration, Organizational Change
Erin Lenihan is a learning scientist specializing in adult learning, organizational learning, multilingual education, and human-AI collaboration. Her work explores how people develop expertise—not only as individual learners, but as members of teams, professional communities, and increasingly AI-supported workplaces.
At Learnology Labs, Erin leads research on workforce learning and human-AI partnership while overseeing the development of the Labs' multilingual knowledge models. She brings deep experience designing learning at scale, including multilingual educational systems deployed internationally and professional learning communities that have supported thousands of educators, developers, and creators. Her research seeks to understand how learning ecosystems can help people adapt, collaborate, and flourish in a rapidly changing world.

Learning Scientist; Children’s Media, User Research, Child-Centered Design
Dr. Meagan Rothschild is a learning scientist specializing in children's media, user research, and child-centered design. Her research explores how children learn through media and technology, and how educational experiences can be designed in partnership with children and families rather than simply for them.
At Learnology Labs, Meagan investigates play as a fundamental mode of human learning. Her research examines how games, storytelling, and playful experiences help children construct knowledge, develop identity, make sense of the world, and engage with questions that extend beyond factual learning. She believes that healthy educational technologies should nurture curiosity, imagination, and exploration alongside academic growth.

Dr. Elida V. Laski directs the Thinking and Learning Lab at Boston College, where her research focuses on the cognitive development of mathematical thinking in early childhood. Her work bridges developmental psychology, mathematics education, and learning science to better understand how children acquire foundational mathematical knowledge.
As Senior Research Advisor, Dr. Laski is an integral member of the Learnology Labs research team, collaborating on research design, knowledge modeling, data analysis, and scholarly publication. Through this partnership, she helps connect the Labs' work to leading academic research in the learning sciences.
