Our People
At Learnology Labs, our research team is driven by a commitment to grant-ready, evidence-based academic excellence and meaningful educational impact.
Learnology Labs brings together learning scientists, researchers, educators, and technologists with deep experience advancing learning through rigorous research and evidence-grounded design.

Dr. Anastasia Betts is a learning scientist, researcher, and educator with more than 30 years of experience spanning curriculum design, educational technology, and educational research. She holds a Ph.D. from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, where her research examined how to enhance early home mathematics learning environments for young children. A named inventor on three U.S. patents for personalized learning technologies and co-editor of the Handbook of Research on Innovative Approaches to Early Childhood Education and School Readiness, Dr. Betts has led research and design at the forefront of AI in education for nearly a decade. She founded Learnology Labs to harness rigorous research, the learning sciences, and emerging technology to improve learning across the human lifespan. She maintains current CITI Program certification in human subjects research. Dr. Betts is also a co-founder of Learnology.ai; Learnology Labs maintains a conflict-of-interest policy, and its efficacy research is conducted in collaboration with Boston College.

Learning Scientist; Multilingual Learning, Human-AI Partnership in Workforce Learning
Erin Lenihan leads the construction of Learnology Labs’ multilingual knowledge models. She is one of the few researchers in the field with experience building cross-language learning systems at production scale, having led the development of complete multilingual product lines for Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese-speaking English language learners, with deployments across the United States, Costa Rica, Spain, China, and Japan. Her current research examines how people build effective partnering capacity with AI, in K–12 education and in the workforce, and she is a co-author of the Labs’ federal policy work on AI in education.

Learning Scientist; Children’s Media, User Research, Play-Based Design
Dr. Meagan Rothschild brings two decades of experience at the intersection of media, learning, and play. She built and scaled the design research and consumer insights program at a leading early learning technology company, directing a team of eleven researchers conducting roughly one hundred studies a year across quantitative and qualitative methodologies, spanning ten domestic and international products. Her work has bridged research and industry through collaborations involving Microsoft Research, Sesame Workshop, and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Born and raised in Kāneʻohe, Hawaiʻi, she grounds her research practice in community, collaboration, and cultural funds of knowledge.

Dr. Elida V. Laski is Director of the Thinking and Learning Lab at Boston College, where her research examines the development of mathematical thinking in early childhood. As Senior Research Advisor to Learnology Labs, she is embedded in the Labs’ research design, knowledge modeling, and analysis, and serves as a co-author on its published studies.
